 Armington, Frank Milton (1876-1941)
Born in Ontario, Canada, Frank Armington began his art education in Toronto before moving to Paris and continuing at the Academie Julien. He and his wife Caroline, also an artist of some acclaim, lived and worked in France and traveled together as reporters throughout Europe and the Middle East.
An interesting feature of the Armingtons' work is that their paintings and prints are witnesses to their times and often portray vanished places and landscapes.
With the outbreak of World War 2 they left for New York where Frank Armington died in 1941.
